The Silver Age, Silver SAge Initiative aims to support age-sensitive approaches to Continuous Professional Development for older learners and workers.
Across Europe demographic trends, reinforced by policies aimed at delaying retirement, are leading to an increase in the average age of the workforce. People are wanting to, or having to, work for longer than ever before. This is a cause for concern for both employers and older workers if skills, and therefore productivity and employability, deteriorate with age.
The goal of the Silver Age, Silver SAge Initiative (SASSI for short) is to give people the opportunity to maintain a productive working life by focusing on the updating and upskilling of this ageing workforce. It seeks to provide Trainers and Employers with a range of skills, tools and techniques to help them support older learners and workers more effectively.
The SASSI Awards: We are delighted announce the SASSI Awards for innovative approaches to Workforce Development for the Ageing Workforce.
We are seeking submissions of innovative workforce development strategies that maintain and improve the motivation and productivity of older workers; strategies that enhance inclusion and age-diversity whilst supporting an organisational vision, and that create positive organisational outcomes. The SASSI Awards aim to highlight and celebrate this good practice.
Winners will receive the SASSI Label of Best Practice and be invited to receive their SASSI Award at a conference in Meppel, Netherlands on 18th May 2017. The Conference is free to all entrants and travel and accommodation will be grant funded for the representatives of winning organisations.
